Small Seconds, Guilloche Dial (handwork), Luminescent Hands, Limited Edition, Screw-Down Crown, Quick Set, Only Original Parts, Luminous indexes

Armand Nicolet [Tramelan] made this excellent entry level complication in collaboration with Dubois Depraz for a large date window at 12 o'clock. The large sub-seconds [off the 6 o'clock] has it's own charm of old school vis-a-vis the new and modern configurations of the Dubois Depraz company. A.N. call this series the M-02 and without doubt it is a finely constructed time piece, again, it is an entry level complication, at 42 mm the case is on the larger side and the screw down crown sticks out a further 3 mm.
The Large Date window makes it convenient to have a look at it and the 6 o'clock seconds display is also pleasing to the eye. The excellent feature of this time piece is it's unbelievably good Guilloche dial [all hand-machine worked] the features are reminiscent of a higher end time piece with an equal amount of luxury. The crown screws down into the case, and the case itself is a multi level creation, with a 100 M depth rating.
The movement is derived out of a ETA 2824-2 workhorse movement, and will stand the test of time, it has been modified especially with a stronger mainspring to run the mechanism of the large date and the sub-seconds extra wheels. This still isn't any minor complication, it still has quite a number of parts and there are at least two different sets of bridges holding together this lovely time piece.
As it gets a lower amplitude the configuration tends to lose time, and if you notice a significant loss of time, over say a day losing 30-45 seconds then maybe it will be due for a service. At present it is performing admirably, the mechanism has been checked over, and more importantly the watch has been rigorously tested for all these features, by us here at PTC. Armand Nicolet AN-M02 is thus ready to wear. [Testing date- September 06-2014]

*Since this is a used time piece it is important to reflect on the fact that it has a pretty used leather strap, the clasp is very nice and tight, but does have a few minor scratches as can be seen from my pictures of it* Overall, the strap is a 60-40 - but the watch is 80-20 due to the fact that a minor cleanup was done on the case, this entailed a light polish. It is my duty to give perfect and clear and concise information pertinent to the time piece, and/or it's upkeep.
