A. Lange & Sohne Lange 1 Tourbillon in Rose Gold with Power Reserve and Grand Double-Digit Date. Limited and Numbered to an Exclusive 250 Pieces! Lange ennobled this centennial tourbillon with the inimitable personality of the LANGE 1. It was a tradition at Lange to usher in a new century with a formidable accomplishment in mechanical watchmaking. The year 2000 was no exception. The edition of the LANGE 1 TOURBILLON was limited to 250 in pink gold. Proudly displaying the "Made in Germany" attribute, it is the world's first wristwatch with a tourbillon, a patented outsize date, twin mainspring barrels for three days' power reserve, and a progressive power-reserve indicator. The LANGE 1 TOURBILLON has a delicate cage that rotates about its own axis once a minute to cancel out the effects of gravity on rate accuracy. The miniature steel cage of the tourbillon containing the balance wheel, the balance spring, and the escapement, consists of 72 parts and is suspended between two diamond endstones. Overall, the movement is a breathtaking ensemble of 378 meticulously finished parts that interact to perfection as can be observed through the sapphire-crystal caseback.
