Exceptional Cartier pendant watch with beautiful décor
The Cartier pendant watch with 100 Diamonds was made in France around 1900. The watch can be worn as pendant. The round watchcase is made of platinum and fitted with a manual wind movement with a sapphire cabochon to the crown. It has a silver-colored dial with Arabic numerals, Chemin-de-fer chapter ring and blued hands and shows the hour and minute. The curved pendant of the clock is adorned with 29 old cut diamonds, weighing c, 0.58 carats. The back of the watchcase boasts an equally charming decor comprising 71 rose cut diamonds with a total weight of c. 0.30 carats.
The clock is marked with ‘Cartier Paris’, the guarantee mark and the number ‘7000’ to the inside of the back cover. It is in good condition, showing light wear. Some rose cut diamonds are missing. During a short-term test, it was fully functional, but long-term precision and regularity cannot be guaranteed. The diameter of the watchcase is 30 mm, and the height is 7 mm. The total weight of the watch is c. 24.3 grams.

The typical Panthère motif was first introduced in 1914 with a women's watch, in 1935 with a ring for the Duchess of Windsor and was later transformed into the famous jewelry series ‘Panthère de Cartier’. The theme was significantly developed by Jeanne Toussaint, nicknamed ‘La Panthère’, who was the creative director of Fine Jewelry from 1933 and as a metaphor of femininity the panther remains an icon of the House of Cartier. In addition to jewelry and watches, Cartier offers a wide range of various leather goods, perfumes, pens, lighters, sunglasses and all sorts of accessories.
