By repute the Datora is so named after the fact that it was Breitling’s only vintage chronograph made with date indication.
In the 60’s chronograph wristwatches became very popular and by the ‘70’s they were de rigueur. Watchmakers like Breitling had to keep up with fashion and the Datora reference 2018 personifies everything ‘cool’ about the 1970’s. The silver dial contrasts really well with the blue ovoid subs, and the orange chrono hands stand out to attract the eye and to emphasise the fact that this is a wrist chronograph.
The cushion-shaped case was an elegant design for Breitling and its 36mm. diameter meant that it wasn’t too big for ladies to wear – which is true today as it was then.
All watches are either covered by a six month warranty. However some vintage watches should not be subjected to the same conditions as when they were new.
